Guidelines for Smoke on the Square BBQ Competition
• Contest is limited to charcoal and wood only, no gas grills
• Teams will provide their own grills, charcoal or wood, seasonings, sauces, utensils, serving
dishes, trash and used charcoal removal.
• Teams must provide their own wash basins for sanitizing with 1 lid of bleach to 1 gallon of water.
• Any size grill, smoker, or cooker is welcome
• On-site set up begins at 5:00 p.m. May 13, 2022
• Meat for judging to be provided by Contestant
• Judging in All Categories beginning at 2:30 p.m.
o Categories: Meat (Brisket, Chicken, Pork, Ribs)
o Meats will be judged on taste/flavor and texture/tenderness.
o Top Ten Contestants in meat categories will receive awards
o Top Three Contestants will receive trophies and cash prize
o Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion trophies will also be awarded
• Registration Fees
o $60 for Meat Categories and $5 for BBQ Sauce
o No refunds of registration

    Pork Butt will be provided to contestants by Community Center

    People’s Choice Winner will be determined by Public Vote

    Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, staff and attendees can use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol and rub their hands until dry.
