About Event
Delicious BBQ, friends, and fun… that’s what is on the agenda for the Smoke On The Square BBQ Contest– Friday – Saturday, May 17th and 18th, 2024, on the historic Hope Town Square. The Community Center of Hope is proud to host the annual “Smoke on the Square” BBQ Competition. This family event will be held on Friday – Saturday, May 17th and 18th, 2024 on the Hope Town Square. This is an opportunity for you, as a BBQ Competitor, to become an active partner to assist the Community Center of Hope with the numerous programs and services offered to the community. This includes our Education Programs that fill the needs of children ranging from 6 weeks to 6th grade. We offer Indiana State Licensed Early Learning Programs, Before/After School, and Summer Camp. The Community Center is the home to the Hope Food Pantry. Smoke on the Square is open to all levels of competitors. The winners are determined by a panel of judges that consist of several Kansas City Barbeque Society certified judges and other trained judges.
There will be one table captain per judging table. These judges will determine the winners in each category of brisket, chicken, ribs, and pork.
The 2023 competition brought hundreds of people to the Hope Town Square to enjoy this family
focused event. We received all positive feedback from competitors and attendees. We hope the 2024 event will be just as successful as the past events.
